Patrick has more than 30 years of experience in the high technology and consumer electronics industry working for companies like Apple Computer Inc., Knowledge Adventure, Palm Computing Inc., Aliph Corp., Palmsource, Omnisky and SoonR, Inc. While at Apple Computer, he was responsible for the development and launch of Apple's consumer personal computer business, the Performa.
As President and CEO of Palmsource (NASDAQ: PSRC), the developer of the Palm OS, he transformed the company from a developer of proprietary handset OS’s to a leader in the development of Linux based open source mobile operating systems. He later led the successful sale of Palmsource to Access Systems of Japan.
He has also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Omnisky Corp. (NASDAQ: OMNY) where he successfully led the company through its IPO and eventual sale to Earthlink. While with Omnisky, he also developed and executed the launch of the first nationwide wireless ISP in partnership with AT&T and Verizon, becoming the leader in the delivery rich content and services to end users.
From January 1996 to June 1999, Patrick served as a Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development of Palm Computing Inc. – the maker of the wildly popular PalmPilot™ and Treo™ lines of handheld computers. While at Palm he built the sales channel into a multi-hundred million dollar a year enterprise.
