A Better Reality: The Release of RealityVision 2.5

April 20, 2009 was a huge day on the product front at Reality Mobile. We announced a major version update to RealityVision, our flagship platform (press release).

There are three major enhancements: support for most Blackberry devices, support for Microsoft Virtual Earth and, perhaps the feature that I am personally most excited about, RealityVision Screencast. RealityVision Screencast solves a problem that we have been asked many times by customers: how can I take changing operational information appearing on any PC screen within my organization and share it immediately with my remote experts. Now we have the answer. Open a RealityVision Screencast box on the PC screen, place it over the relevant content and push a transmit button. With that simple action, the box contents are now being streamed as a live video source within your secure RealityVision network. (You can also open and reposition multiple boxes on the same screen—each box will stream its own contents separately and each will be available as a separate video source within the RealityVision network.)

Once a Screencast is launched, your dispersed personnel can access the contents directly from their cell phones or laptops or you can remotely push the contents to those personnel without any intervention on their part. It really is that simple, and we are very excited to make it available to our customers.

We can talk about new features as functionality, but the real testament to the power of RealityVision is our customers. We were also able to announce today that Consolidated Edison of New York, one of the nation's largest investor-owned energy companies, has completed a successful field trial and has become a Reality Mobile customer.

As a user of RealityVision, Con Edison joins ranks with organizations that are at the cutting edge of technology adoption for situational awareness. We’re proud that RealityVision is seeing so much traction for security and protection purposes – some of the recent, high-profile events include the 2009 South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the 2009 Academy Awards, President Obama’s Inauguration Festivities, the 2008 Democratic and Republican Conventions and the 2008 Papal Visit to Washington D.C.
