Herndon VA – April 17, 2012 - Reality Mobile® today announced that they have been awarded a subcontract with Oceus Networks to provide enterprise-class real-time mobile video collaboration solutions to the U.S. Navy.  The company’s flagship product, RealityVision®, was selected as part of a pilot for a new Navy portable maritime Command and Control (C2) system, making this the first operational deployment of 4G LTE for the U.S. Department of Defense.

The award is as a subcontractor to Oceus Networks, under a contract for a pilot being conducted over the next year with the Kearsarge Expeditionary Strike Group, homeported in Norfolk, Va. RealityVision will be an integrated part of the Xiphos tactical cellular solution which will provide high capacity secure wireless broadband for real time access to Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) data for intra-ship communications over the horizon, and inter-ship communications via commercial hand-held devices.

RealityVision allows for the sharing of live video, mission critical data and GPS tracking through commercially available hardware, smart phones, tablets, PCs, cameras,  and virtually any system (including cellular, tactical, Wi-Fi and satellite networks) currently being used for mobile communication, anywhere in the world. Any critical information seen in the field or on a PC screen – including UAV or drone feeds in a TOC or NOC - can be shared instantly and securely with everyone who needs to see it.

“This is all about enabling the warfighter in remote locations to see the same images that are being seen at central command,” said David Kramer, President and CEO of Reality Mobile. “Given the increasing importance of mission critical real-time video, automated situational awareness and video command and control at the tactical and mobile edge, RealityVision is quickly becoming an important tool for first responders, and those serving or supporting operations on the battlefield. We are pleased to partner with Oceus Networks to deliver this ground-breaking deployment in support of NAVAIR’s Counter Networks and Illicit Trafficking (CNIT) program office.”

RealityVision’s enterprise-grade mobile technology allows for real-time video and visual data collaboration, enabling situational awareness, user context, and real-time operational decision-making for government and enterprise users. The system was designed from the ground up to support the enterprise, leveraging a highly flexible architecture, modular components and open standards to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of enterprise and government customers.
