Reality Mobile Validates Use of Real-Time Mobile Video Collaboration As A High-Value Solution in Event of Marine Spills and Other Incidents

HERNDON, VA – (June 1, 2010) Reality Mobile announced that it recently completed a successful Marine Spill Response simulation in which the value of RealityVision was evaluated as a real-time mobile video collaboration tool.  Conducted in conjunction with a key customer, RealityVision was deployed both on the water and in the air as part of a controlled marine spill simulation.

Functioning as a dynamic real-time data and video sharing network, RealityVision connects users via a number of devices ranging from their desktop computer to intrinsically safe devices to their smart phone. Once connected users can both push and pull video, data and GPS tracking information through the network.

Unlike other solutions, real-time information was not just available in the operations center. It was also fed out to responders on scene as well as to off-site spill response experts and other corporate personnel who needed to understand the extent of the simulated spill and other issues as they occurred.

When equipped with RealityVision these assets in the air and on the water provided the response operation with real-time information about the simulated spill. Operations management could immediately see what responders see in the field so that a complete view of the spill was quickly assembled from multiple visual perspectives.  Using RealityVision all visual perspectives are geo-located so the extent of the spill was easily understood.

Built for the enterprise user, RealityVision® is specifically designed to protect proprietary information and supports standard Microsoft security and authentication. The technology was created to leverage existing communications and computing infrastructure, and is also highly scalable, a key benefit for energy users whose business crosses a multitude of geographies and areas of expertise.

“RealityVision® technology provides a highly mobile collaboration platform to address critical operational issues,” said David Kramer, Chief Executive Officer, Reality Mobile. “Any data that can be displayed on a computer screen can be distributed to multiple users in multiple locations, enabling real-time access to information and instant collaboration. Whether you are in an operations center, a USCG cutter or on a remote rig in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, you can bring key personnel to the same level of visual understanding of an asset with a push of a button.”
